About Wordist

What is Wordist?

Wordist is a free-to-play daily word puzzle. Every day, a fresh board of 50 letter tiles is dealt to all players. You place tiles on a 5×5 grid, form words by selecting adjacent letters, and try to clear the board for the highest score.

It's part word game, part spatial puzzle. The board is shared — everyone plays the same tiles on the same day — so you can compare strategies and compete on the leaderboard.

More Than a Word Game

Beyond scoring, Wordist has an in-game economy built around word ownership. When you discover and claim a word, you earn royalties every time another player spells it. Rare words, common words, long words, short words — they all have value.

Seasons keep things fresh. Each season resets claim opportunities, giving new players a shot at popular words and rewarding loyal players with O.G. status on words they discovered first.

Word of the Day

Each day features a curated Word of the Day tied to current events, holidays, or cultural moments. Spelling it earns bonus points, extra XP, and credits. The WOTD letters are always guaranteed to be somewhere in the tile bank — finding and playing them is part of the challenge.

Who Built This?

Wordist was built by a dad that wanted to give his three boys a reason to think he is cool. The jury is out on whether it will work or not. 🤦‍♂️
